Carstairs Acreage 1
After working through a couple of different home designs with our customers this was the one we landed on.
- Over 3200 square foot 2 story home with 900 square foot 3 car garage
- Had to remove an old cinder block garage, which was right where the customer wanted the house to site.
- Had to relocated power pole and additional services that were existing from the original acreage build (potentially decades old)
- Installed a full ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) basement
- Lots of vibrant colours, wall paper details, and unique flooring selections, which turned out great
- Black vinyl windows inside and out, always makes for a crisp look
- “Dry-away” clothes drying rack incorporated into the laundry room
- Generous space for a vintage pool tage
- We removed the original newel post from the old farm house and incorporated it into the new home, it became somewhat of the centrepiece of the main floor.
- Ran additional power for a recent shop build
- Incorporated a spray foamed “hotbox” below the bonus room floor in the garage ceiling to make sure the floor would say nice and warm
- Used a Navien “on demand” boiler for the domestic hot water and in-slab heating
- Full finished basement
We had hiccup on this one…
As much as we like to say that we always have everything under control, in construction, there are times when you can get blindsided by things. In this case our long standing cabinet supplier was not able to finish their work due to the owner dealing with a major medial setback.
However after some delays we were able to work with another supplier who pulled through and we were still able to complete the home in time for them to have their first Christmas there.
