Thomas Built Homes | Bergen Acreage 1

Bergen Acreage 1

When the original home was damaged beyond repair from a tornado we were asked if a new home could be built in its place.  Of course our answer was “Yes!”

We enlisted the help of the Sundre Fire Department to help us get rid of the original structure.  They came out on a sunny Saturday morning and preformed training manoeuvres for a few hours and then set it on fire one last time.  This made is so there was much less debris for us to haul away.

We also had to design the new home to take advantage of a certain view out the one side, all while using the existing concrete slab from the old garage for the new garage.  The result is what you see here.

  • Almost 2000 square foot “slab on grade” bungalow
  • Mechanical room on the main floor
  • Hidden safe room below grade (for those stormy days)
  • In slab heating
  • Connected to the garage by a breezeway
  • 10/12 roof pitches
  • U-shaped kitchen
  • Custom en-suite shower
  • Incorporated little decorating touches from their old home
